Project designed in collaboration with Naser Madouh @ studioMADOUHBEK.
ResidentialMIS unfolds the idea of designing simple degrees of flexibility into a single building typology. Within the informed massing gesture, each unit adapts to its type’s specific requirements. The development consists of 4 private units and 8 rental units, all clustered in one block. By exploring simple massing manipulations, the design is able to respond to multiple functions, varying programmatic conditions, and environmental concerns. As a base massing logic, each floor responds to the two opposing directions of views and exposure. Programmatic requirements play a dominant role in the design of the interior spaces, while the conception of the exterior shell provides passive sun shading and privacy.
